HORNETS INTERESTED IN WILLIE GREEN
The Hornets are interested in signing Willie Green according to new rumours. Willie Green is an unrestricted free agent and the Hornets have the option of whether or not to tender Marco Belinelli. Beyond that, they have nothing, unless you consider Jarrett Jack a shooting guard (I do!). Monty Williams spent much of last season giving 35-40 minutes to one guy at the point guard, small forward, power forward, and center positions while simultaneously playing musical chairs at shooting guard.
WILLIAMS THE NEW GREEN
Willie Green has been the favourite of many old fans, but it seems that Williams will be the new Green. Williams provides the Sixers with instant offense off the bench. He led the Sixers in fourth-quarter scoring (4.3 points) this season, in addition to having a team-best 10 double-digit final periods and leading all NBA reserves with 356 free throw attempts. He can create his own shot, as he did with the game-winning 3-pointer in the Game 4 victory over the Heat, which makes him a viable option at the end of games.

Willie Green scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter Friday in helping the New Orleans Hornets pull clear in the late going to defeat Memphis 98-91. The Free Bets website had Green down as the top points scorer.
The game was tied after each of the first three periods but the Hornets prevailed to snap a two-game losing streak.
Jarrett Jack hit a 3-pointer for New Orleans to give the Hornets an eight-point lead with 2:59 to play, and they protected their advantage at the foul line down the stretch.

Willie Green led New Orleans with 24 points Friday and the Hornets held Orlando to a single field goal over the final 6:39 to down the Magic 99-93.
New Orleans ended a four-game losing streak by limiting Orlando to 13 points in the fourth period.
Orlando rallied from a 14-point deficit in the third period to tie the score heading into the final quarter, but the Magic went cold down the stretch and had a two-game winning streak snapped. Orlando made just 1-of-10 shots from the field during the latter half of the fourth period and turned the ball over four times.

The converse affect of Thornton being traded away is that Willie Green should get even more minutes; he was already getting increased run lately, posting averages of 17.0 points and 1.4 3s per game in 32.4 minutes over his past five contests.
